The Great Outdoors

The Great Outdoors

Our first full day in Canada, and already we're off out hiking...or rather strolling gently around Englishman River Falls. Scott is the only one of the family who brought his own waterproofs, Mummy and Daddy had to borrow theirs from Anne and Michael.

Goats on the Roof

Goats on the Roof

Fairly self-explanatory this one. The building in question is a rather fabulous market, selling fruit and veg and all kinds of weird and wonderful food as well as extra large coffees for Daddy.

A Scary Face

...and a totem pole, outside the Museum of BC in Victoria. We're not sure whether Scott is doing an impersonation or if that face is a result of the giant ice-cream he ate earlier.

Can we dig it?

Can we dig it?

Yes we can! Scott is in his element moving gravel around at a playground near the centre of Nanaimo.

Skiing in the Snow

Skiing in the Snow

That's what Scott told everybody that he was going to do in the cable car up Whistler Mountain. Needless to say he actually just ran around, threw snowballs down the front of Mummy's dungarees, and watched Daddy attempting to ski.

He did get a shot of Daddy's goggles and ski-poles though, and of course looked a lot better in them than Daddy did. (Thanks to Frank for the loan of the 70s snowsuit, by the way)

Pride Comes...

Pride Comes...

There's a sad story attached to this one. Scott was having a lovely day out looking at Boys' Toys with Daddy, Guy and Michael and even got an icecream...

...Before a Fall

...Before a Fall

Unfortunately he dropped the icecream, and not even a close encounter with a Big Digger could console him.

On the Sea Aeroplane

On the Sea Aeroplane

His trip on a seaplane (from Vancouver to Nanaimo) was definitely one of the highlights of Scott's holiday, even though you didn't get chips like you do on the ferry.

Fighting Fires

Fighting Fires

After all our trips to National Parks Scott took Smokey Bear's advice to heart, and decided he'd better practice putting out forest fires in Anne and Michael's garden. Fortunately for whoever took this photo, the water was kept firmly off.

Entertainment Value

I can't think of anything clever to say about this one. Scott fell asleep in the car with his spade in his mouth, giving us all a good laugh.
