Sitting Up With Some Toys

Sitting Up With Some Toys

This is Scott at about 5 months and he's just starting to sit up - though he still needs a bit of a helping hand (mums are good at that). I can only guess the index finger is sticking up as he's about to say something very interesting.

Greased Up On His Changing Mat

Greased Up On His Changing Mat

Scott's got a touch of eczema so he needs a good greasing up with emulsifying ointment each night before he gets his bathed. Behind him is his orange Miffy bath. Since Scott is getting washed in the lounge I suppose this is when his room was still being used for storage - Poor wee thing.

Ready For Bed

Ready For Bed

Scott's routine every night now is to get his dinner at around 6.30pm. Then depending on how tired he is he gets to play a bit and then he gets a bath. After his bath he's pretty much ready for bed but he still gets a milk feed first. After his milk he's completely exhausted, and in fact he's usually asleep. But this night he's still awake - but only just.

Eating A Spoon

Eating A Spoon

Scott's eating with his Heinze Baby Spoon here. The Heinze baby feeding cutlery and bowls and cups are fantastic by the way. I would guess by the state of the bib and his face that this is him just before being fed.

Wow A Big Piece Of Paper

Wow A Big Piece Of Paper

This was a piece of paper that some stuff through the post arrived wrapped in. It was quite firm and made crinkly noises and Scott loves crinkly noises. I think this kept him entertained for most of the day.

Ready To Face The World

Ready To Face The World

What a cool dude, eh? I think he looks like he's off an a big expedition here with that fleece and hat but I suppose the Krypton slippers give his real purpose away. He's probably just going up the road to Chorlton to get some shopping. By the way the Kryton slippers came from second cousin Buzzy in Aberdeen along with a heap of other alien stuff. There's also Xenon and Scott's favourite Neon who's orange with a red mohican.

Hanging Around

Hanging Around

We got this baby bouncer at an NCT jumble sale. NCT jumble sales are great and we thought he'd love this, but it took him a while. I think this is after he got used to it because he's smiling. He can make himself bounce now and he loves that so much. It makes a good swing too.

Chilling Out In His Nest

Chilling Out In His Nest

This thing Scott's in is his nest. It's got a baby gym hanging over it that he's supposed to reach up for, but he looks like he's drunk in this picture and couldn't reach for anything. He inherited the nest and gym from his second cousin once removed (I think??) Robert in Aberdeen, and now that he sits up the nest part is fantastic since he can't hurt himself when he topples over.

Lavender Bib

Lavender Bib

I suppose you might think this is a jumper, but no it's a bib with velcro fasteners at the back, a bit like a dentist's gown. And what a bib it is too. Other bibs just pale by comparison. I think this was from second cousin Buzzy too. He's got an actual lamb like this and he was a bit scared when it baaaad at him to start with but now he loves it. I think he likes sucking on its legs.

The Sweetest Smile

The Sweetest Smile

This is possibly the best photo we've got of Scott yet. He's really started posing for the camera and you can see how good at sitting up he's getting. That's Neon his favourite alien he's holding and I think he looks soooo lovely in this picture.

Eating Honey Bunny's Ear

Eating Honey Bunny's Ear

That's Honey Bunny having its ear sucked. Honey Bunny was an Easter present from Granny Wilma in Aberdeen and Scott loves anything with long limbs or long ears that he can suck on. He doesn't actually look too happy there. Maybe his teeth were hurting or he might just be tired.

This Carry Cot Ain't Big Enough For One Of Us

This Carry Cot Ain't Big Enough For One Of Us

When Scott was born he slept in this carry cot for about the first week of his life, and he only came about half way up it. He looked so tiny in it then. As you can see in the five and a half months since he's grown a bit.

What Do You Mean - Am I a Tourist?

What Do You Mean - Am I a Tourist?

Scott not a tourist here, he's just going up to Chorlton for some shopping, or maybe into Manchester at a push. He probably should have one of them 70s Olympus Trip cameras around his neck though. Granny Wilma thinks he looks like he should be in a bath chair.

Thunder Thighs

Thunder Thighs

Emma would like it pointed out that the thunder thighs don't belong to her. I'd guess by that rosy cheeks that this is a post feeding shot.

Moon Face

Moon Face

Considering how often that tounge is sticking out, I'm surprised we don't have more pictures of it. This is Scott's first visit to London, visiting Granny Rachel. He's just about to get the train up town here. though, he never got farther from Charing Cross Station than the Pizza Express on The Strand. Central London and babies don't really mix too well.

In The Garden

In The Garden

This is Granny Rachel's garden in East Greenwich. Notice the denim cap. I think Scott thinks he's a train driver.

Casper The Unhappy Ghost

Casper The Unhappy Ghost

We'd never remembered to take a picture in this all-white sleep suit which was originally his Hopkirk suit until Reeves and Mortimer destroyed Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), at which point it became his Casper suit. Now we have remembered to take a picture, he looks miserable. Probably because a party's about to start and he's off to bed. Or maybe he's just tired. He looks quite sweet all the same. That's his uncle Guy's partner Kate who's holding him and somebody said she looked very grown-up in that picture, which just goes to show what holding a baby can do for you.

Zonked After A Hard Day In The Garden

Zonked After A Hard Day In The Garden

This is still in London and Scott's been playing in his Granny Rachel's garden all morning, and now he's fallen asleep while the packing is being done. This was the first time he ever slept on his front.

Scott Under Water

Scott Under Water

Scott's been doing his Aqua Baby swimming lessons at Manchester Royal Infirmary. He gets to swim in the hydrotherapy pool which is really hot but I suppose babies like that. Scott absolutely loves being in the water and even loves getting put under it. As you can see the eyes and mouth are open but I don't think he swallows any water. He's being distracted by a brightly coloured ball which is why he's looking to the side. This was taken on the fourth lesson of his first course which lasted five weeks. He's now on his second five week course and at the end of that he gets a patch to sew onto his trunks.
