July 27th 2002 (and very much ongoing)After several false starts Scott is now using the toilet. The trick to getting this to work was spiderman vest and pants set, a start chart to reward successful visits to the toilet and the promise of the said spiderman pants and vest set as soon as four stars had ben achieved (which took two days incidently). After a slow start Scott was a styorming success, very quickly managing to go out shopping and to nursery with no accidents. |

July 20th 2002Scott fulfilled the ambitions of both his Grandmas today by wearing a kilt for the first (and quite possibly last) time. Click <here> for photographic proof. The occasion was Colin and Tina's wedding on the Glen Tanar Estate (by Aboyne), and as well as very much enjoying wearing his kilt, Scott got to meet a real live bagpiper in the shape of Daddy's friend Barry (who one of Scott's bears is named after). Sorry Grandma Rachel, but we sent Scott home before the dancing began - we thought the excitement might prove too much for him. |
May 4th-17th 2002As a last long-haul holiday before Little Brother arrives, Mum, Dad, Scott and Uncle Guy set off to Nanaimo, British Columbia (that's in Canada) for a fortnight's stay with Anne and Michael, Mum's aunt and uncle. A fantastic time was had by all - we visited beaches and forests; went to Vancouver, Victoria, Chemainus and the Butchart Gardens; had a sunsoaked weekend's skiing at Whistler; went on a seaplane; and were generally spoilt by Anne and Michael's hospitality, not to mention that of cousins Peter and Paul. We all came back entirely relaxed, or at least we would have done if it hadn't been for the intervening 9-hour flight. Check out the holiday snaps <here>. |

April 19th 2002 (and ongoing)Come the middle of August or thereabouts, Scott is going to be a big brother! His little brother (current working title Ethan James) is making his presence felt with permanent kicking and wriggling, just like Scott did in fact. Scott seems to be quite positive about the idea - his plans for after the birth are to "go to a restaurant and have lunch". |
Easter 2002While Daddy jetted off to Japan for 10 days to buy Scott an umbrella (oh, and do some work), Scott and Mummy decided to join Rachel and Alastair on the beautiful Isle of Arran. Highlights of the trip were a visit to South Park Farm and (of course) copious quantities of chocolate, pictures of which can be seen by clicking <here>. It was even sunny some of the time! |
